Learn More About Why People Are Using Quartz Inserts

Quartz inserts are a clever way to preload concentrates in quartz buckets for easy low-temperature dabs that save expensive quartz bangers. Many types of quartz are extremely high quality and cost as much money as some dab rigs do. Quave Club Bangers are a type of craft quartz banger made in Seattle. Craft quartz is more expensive, but has better heat retention qualities and has a much longer lifespan when treated correctly.

Quartz inserts are little buckets placed inside of heated nail, slowing the vaporizing process and adding a protective layer of quartz from your expensive nail. Once the insert cools down and is removed, the banger remains spotless. The insert can be safely and easily cleaned when it cools down.

Quartz inserts also have the benefit of increasing the effectiveness of low-temperature dabs. Inserts can be preloaded with concentrates and placed into the bucket before the nail is heated. Heat retention is increased with this method. Inserts can be used in a preheated nail as well, both ways accomplish the same goal, but everyone has their preferred method.

Live resin is a great type of concentrate to use with quartz inserts because the high terpene content will have an extra layer of protection around it.

Learn More About Lemon OG From Refine And NW Connoisseurs

Lemon OG from Refine Seattle and NW Connoisseurs is a skunky lemon loud resin. Loud resin is a special type extraction method that is created by harvesting the plants on a specific day to ensure the terpene profile is at its “loudest.” It’s a special product that runs  $50-$60 per gram, but you can save some cash by buying it on Wednesday when there are deals of concentrates.

The yellow-green label glows beneath Refine Seattle’s signature blue lid. Inside, a bright yellow resin with the consistency of wet sand lays to rest. The smells range from sharp pine, sweet citrus, and something pinesol-esque.

The Lemon OG strain hit me hard and brought me down a level. My mind started wandering immediately. It was hard to get motivated to write, instead, I spaced out while I cleaned my kitchen. Lemon OG relaxed my body and mind, I highly recommend dabbing this after you’re done working for the day. This strain is great for getting mundane chores around the house done, but maybe not the best for getting real work done for the day.

The Joint Seatac’s Dabbing Cannabis Quick Start Guide

Dabbing cannabis concentrates is exploding in popularity, but getting started is much more complicated than just sparking a pre-rolled joint. It involves obtaining the proper glass rig set up and all the accouterments that include a butane torch, carb cap, and cannabis concentrates. The easiest way to get started with all this gear is going to your local glass shop and asking a lot of questions, it’s embarrassing, but you won’t learn about dabbing culture in a better way.

Once you have your set up, check out this cannabis dabbing quick start guide and enjoy the world of cannabis concentrates.

Dabbing For Dummies

  1. Load a dab of concentrate on a dab tool. Dab tools are usually just metal dentist tools. Some get fancy and design them as samurai swords or lightsabers.
  2. Set your loaded dab tool aside and heat your nail with a torch.j Heating length is widely debated among concentrate users, but low-temperature dabs will provide you with the best flavor, and you can always reheat your nail and burn the rest if you change your mind. When you heat up an average quartz nail until it’s red hot, you want to let it cool down for at least 60 seconds. Set a time to nail this cool down time consistently; Errl’s Dab Timer smartphone app is a great way to do this.
  3. Once the timer hits zero, grab your tool and place it on the nail until the dab melts off your tool (scrape the rest off the edges of the nail).
  4. Grab a carb-cap; place it over the nail and rotate it while inhaling. This retains the temperature and swirls the oil around the nail vaporizing the entire dab.
  5. Once you’re done with your dab, it’s time to clean your nail with q-tips. If you’ve properly completed a low-temp dab, there will be a warm brown puddle in your nail. Soak up most of this with one q-tip.
  6. Use the second q-tip to soak up a bit of rubbing alcohol to scrub the oil remains from your nail. This will result in small crackling and alcohol vapor escaping from the nail, this is completely normal.
  7. The final q-tip just cleans out the little bit of alcohol and oil remaining. I reuse this q-tip as the first on my next

The Gavel Core Reactor Nail Is Great For Low-Temperature Dabs

Dab nails come in all shapes and sizes nowadays as heady glass culture slowly bleeds into mainstream cannabis use. Each nail serves a specific function for different types of dab takers. The gavel core reactor nail is a play on the standard bucket design; a deep bucket with a raised platform on the center.

This platform is about one-third the length of the bucket. This simple raised platform serves many different functions: the first is it gives the nail more surface area, which holds heat longer. Longer heat means the nails cools down slower, giving low-temp dabs longer to fully melt. This eliminates the chances of reheating the nail and scorching your concentrate. These types of nail tend to heat up quicker than other nails as well because the heat is concentrated at the raised platform.

The custom carb-cap that comes with this nail increased the level of vaporization by pushing the oil around the hottest parts of the nail, burning the dab through entirely and consistency. Melting dabs in a gavel core reactor has the superficial benefit of looking awesome. Something about how the oil drips from the platform and pools like a mote around a castle, before the carb-cab whirls the entire glob throughout the nail.

Cannabis content creators might look towards a gavel core reactor style nail if you record a lot of melt shots with your concentrates. The platform showcases the concentrate and adds a prolonged time-release effect to the melt.

Any kind of concentrates work well on this type of nail, but some look prettier while they melt. Live resin and rocks and sauce concentrates have a decadent aesthetic while they slowly melt away. Live resin made from extracting from cannabis plants that have been freshly frozen after harvest to preserve the most terpenes possible. Live resin contains high terpene percentages and lower cannabinoid number compared to other kinds of hydrocarbon waxes.

Rocks and sauce is a slang term for THCa and cannabis-derived terpenes that have been isolated and recombined. This concentrate provides a staggering effect because the terpenes are volatile and vaporize first. Once the flavors rush past your pallet, the rocks have fully melted, releasing an incredible cerebral rush.
